Refuge Cove clings to the hillside in service to Desolation Sound boaters

Refuge Cove was easier to reach by RIB from Prudeax Haven that I had expected. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at such a nearby anchorage longer and hope over to Refuge to stock up.

We made this trip to a) stock up on beer and sodas and b) to do some Waggoner Guide reconnaissance. The Cove seemed to be running back at almost full strength. And, it was busy, as you would expect this late in the season.

I was struck by how this outfit clung to the hillside around the cove, and how far up you needed to climb on low tide to make it to the walkways.
