A Little History

An elegant and stunning motor yacht that is steeped in a rich history. This impressive fantail was originally designed by the naval architect Ted Geary and built in 1930 by the Lake Union Drydock Company. Geary designed the yacht for A.W. Leonard, the owner and President of Puget Sound Power and Light, and she was given as a Valentine’s Day gift from Leonard to his wife. Due to Leonard’s involvement with the Seattle based power company, She was aptly named after the Greek goddess of light.   Although she was primarily a pleasure yacht, she also served as a military support vessel during World War II and was  used by President Reagan on a campaign trip during his bid for reelection.

Despite changing hands several times and various restorations and alterations over the years, she retains historic integrity and she embodies the distinctive characteristics of her overall design.
