Hang'in out in Hoonah

We had more days to kill before our Glacier Bay permit dates, so the obvious place to do that is Hoonah. We were in the small boat harbour at the 'town' end of the village. But perhaps better known is the Icy Strait Park that's been built to entertain passangers from two or more cruise ships at a time. The park, which is anchored on the site of the old Cannery but crawls around and up the hillside, was pretty impressive. The community has really created a unique destination product that cements them as a must-visit stop for ships heading to / from Glacier Bay.

The not-at-all-related-to-Hoonah higlight of our nights there was that when the cruise ships left we had enough data service to watch Captain Ron!
